NO Longer Open Fridays!

As many of you know, Morningstar opened its doors on Friday's starting in September due to the requests of many community members. Over the last 6 months, we have continued to stay open on Friday's to offer care for those who need. Unfortunately, over the last 6 months, we have seen only a small portion of families take advantage of this additional day at Morningstar. 

Hoping we would see an increase in the number of enrollee's for Morningstar on Friday's, we remained open & offered a discount on Friday's to help encourage families to take advantage of this day. 

Due to the cost to remain open on this additional day and the lack of students actually attending on Friday's, unfortunately Morningstar will no longer be available to offer care for those families on Friday's. 

****Friday, March 2nd will be the last Friday Morningstar will be open for Friday care.****

We will revisit the interest level as we approach the summer months.

I know that for some of you, Friday's have been a great option and we appreciate you all committing to enrolling on this additional day. I am sorry that we were not able to make this additional day work. If you have questions or concerns about this schedule change, please contact me. I know this leaves a few of you without care on Friday's, but I do have some resources available to offer so please ask. 

Rotary Giving Tree

Dear Families,

During this 2011 Holiday season, the Rotary Club is once again having a giving tree for the families in need in Big Sky. If you and your family are interested in receiving assistance with this years Holiday, please contact Whitney. "Letters to Santa" Applications are available at Morningstar upon request. All applicants are kelp confidential. 

Letters need to be received by next week (the first week of November).

Scholarships

Two other quick notes...

MLC scholarships are being evaluated this week and should be awarded by next week. If you are wanting to apply for a MLC scholarship, please submit your application ASAP! i have turned in all applications we have received thus far, but I know there are a few families who are still wanting a scholarship, but have not turned them in. Ty will be collecting them from MLC on Thursday so please get them in ASAP! 

Billing is being sent to the accountant today. He will have your invoices to you by early next week at the very latest. Seeing as September came so quickly and we did not have enrollment paperwork till this week, we postponed sending enrollment until today. In the future, please let me know about enrollment changes before the 20th of the month prior so I can make the adjustments accordingly and submit enrollment in a timely manner. This not only saves accounting costs, but also saves me the time of having to make changes to enrollment after I have sent enrollment.

Update

Hello Parents~

Just wanted to let you all know that I will be out of the office for a wedding Thursday September 8th-Saturday September 10th! I will be available on cell if there is anything you need in the mornings until 3pm, both Thursday and Friday. 

Hope you are all enjoying the first days of school. We are excited about this year for many reasons. I would also like to inform all of you of some staffing changes we have for the 2011-2012 school year. 

Miss Krysta has accepted the Lead Teacher position with the Preschool and Miss Linda has accepted the Lead Infant and Toddler position for the 2011-2012 school year. We are pleased to have such knowledgeable staff working for us this year and we look forward to a great year with these experienced teachers. Please refer classroom questions regarding your child to these two teachers. I am always able to assist in answering questions as well, but these teachers work with your children everyday and know their class better than anyone else.

Move & Upcoming School Year

Hello Parents and Supporters of Morningstar Learning Center~

We are excited to announce the purchase of a new building for our facility!! As of September 1, 2011, Morningstar Learning Center is the owner of 659 Spruce Cone Dr located to the south-west of Southfork subdivision and west of Firelight Meadows . The renovations needed to make this building our new home have already begun under the supervision of Josh Greene.

Morningstar Learning Center will open its doors in the new location on the first Monday in October! In order to make this happen as smoothly as possible, we need volunteers to assist with renovations and the move. Shana Seelye (580-4327) and myself will be gathering volunteers for some of the smaller projects at our new location. Beginning with landscaping cleanup and ending with the actual move from our current location to the new one on the first weekend in October.  If you are able to offer specialized construction know how please let us know so you can be put in touch with Josh.

This coming weekend, Sept. 10 & 11 a play structure donated by Nettie Breuner and her children needs to be dismantled and brought to our new location. Once it has been transferred some maintenance will need to be completed before it can be reassembled and installed in the backyard play area.  Please let me know if you are able to help with any portion of this project. 

We need all the volunteers we can gather to help this move happen! Please contact me if you are able to assist in any way and I will put you in contact with the right person.

Lastly, Enrollment for the fall is here! If you are interested in enrolling your child at MLC, please contact me and let me know what days you are interested in.
