FRIDAYS at Morningstar

Good Morning Parents~

As many of you know, Morningstar opened its doors on Friday's starting in September due to the requests of many community members. Over the last 6 months, we have continued to stay open on Friday's to offer care for those who need. Unfortunately, over the last 6 months, we have seen only a small portion of families take advantage of this additional day at Morningstar.

Hoping we would see an increase in the number of enrollee's for Morningstar on Friday's, we remained open & offered a discount on Friday's to help encourage families to take advantage of this day.

Due to the cost to remain open on this additional day and the lack of students actually attending on Friday's, unfortunately Morningstar will no longer be available to offer care for those families on Friday's.

****Friday, March 2nd will be the last Friday Morningstar will be open for Friday care.****

We will revisit the interest level as we approach the summer months.

I know that for some of you, Friday's have been a great option and we appreciate you all committing to enrolling on this additional day. I am sorry that we were not able to make this additional day work. If you have questions or concerns about this schedule change, please contact me. I know this leaves a few of you without care on Friday's, but I do have some resources available to offer so please ask.

Valentine's Day Party

Valentines Day is just around the corner and we are ready to show our love for one another :) Throughout this week, students will be preparing for our Valentines day celebration.

On Tuesday February 14th at 3pm, Morningstar Students will enjoy a Valentines Day party!

Students will be making sugar cookies earlier in the day & will exchange valentines and have sweet treats during the party!! Students will make valentines day bags this week so they can collect valentines from their friends.

If students would like to hand out valentines, please make sure you have enough for each friend. (30 Preschoolers, 13 Infant & Toddlers) Seeing as we will be handing out sweet treats they have made for the party, please try to avoid large amounts of sugary treats We all know what the crash looks like!! All friends, regardless of the day you attend MLC, are welcome to our party! Please let us know if you are interested in coming & you do not attend on Tuesday afternoons.

Need Recycle Items

Hello again,

For the next 2 weeks, MLC students will be learning about the many forms of Transportation. The teachers have been busy planning fun & exciting ideas for these 2 weeks of travel :)

We are now collecting recycled items to assist us in building different forms of transportation. If you have any of the following items, please bring them to us!

Soda/pop plastic bottles (large, small, tall, narrow, etc)

Plastic milk, juice & other larger plastic jugs
Lids for plastic items
Toilet paper & paper towel rolls
Egg cartons
Wine corks

Hello Everyone~

Thank you for those who did respond to the last email regarding the Fund raising committee meeting. From the responses I have received, it looks like Monday night will be the best night for a majority.

We will meet Monday January 16th @ 6pm at Morningstar Learning Center. If you need to bring little ones, please do. I'm sure we will be able to find something for them to do while we talk.

Halloween in the Classroom - 3pm Today!

Students are encouraged to wear their costumes to school to share in the fun with their classmates.

All MLC students are invited to join in on the fun. We will be enjoying Halloween cookies and pumpkin goodies in the afternoon on Halloween and will trick or treat around our new school (We are creating a unique trick or treat treasure hunt in the new building). We will play some Halloween games and dance to some Halloween classics.

Volunteers Needed

I need volunteers this week to clean up landscaping around the new building at 659 Spruce Cone Drive. We are going to pull up all of the weed mat near the front porch and along with it all of the weeds. The landscaping rock needs to be reused so we are just going to put it in a pile. All of the noxious weed need to go on the front berm. In the back we just need to continue cleanup of trash. There is a dumpster for cleanup but you should bring gloves and tools if you have them. PLEASE POST A REPLY IF YOU CAN HELP! Check out the photo albumn for pictures of the cleanup & construction!

We are moving to a new space in the Ousell Falls Subdivision. We will be moving into 659 Spruce Cone close to both Southfork, Westfork and Firelight Subdivisions. October 1st is our target move date please support us in the remodel by donating your time! Check out our volunteer page!
